ARTIST STATEMENT

"Sea Eagle Spinners Wynyard is a group of passionate fibrecrafters who love to spin, knit, weave, crochet and felt our creations from natural fibres. Ranging in ages from 8-80+ years young, our group welcomes everyone who shares in our passions and Tassie is a great place to wear our (usually woolly) creations! Inspired by the Alice Springs Beanie Festival held in June every year, we decided to host our own exhibition displaying the wide range of creativity that our members from all around the state have. Our theme is loosely based on this years Alice Springs Beanie Festival's theme, 'Listen to the Land', with some of the beanies going from here to be displayed and sold there. It is a huge event, with thousands of beanies sold every year! So for those who can't make it to Alice, we hope that our beanie exhibition can bring you some warm woolly joy!"
